ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE OR FULL PROFESSOR (Medical Center Line Professoriate, or Clinician Educator Line)
The Stanford Department of Pathology seeks an outstanding new faculty member to join our expanding Clinical Genomics Program. Duties will include sign-out responsibilities for germline panels in cardiology, neurology, cancer and whole genome testing, oversight of test development, participation in quality management activities, oversight of residents and fellows, and participation in genomic review boards for both Stanford Health Care and Lucille Packard Children's Hospital. The successful applicant will need to be capable of leading a team of biocurators, bioinformaticians, genetic counselors, clinical laboratory scientists, and trainees; as well as capable of interfacing with the health care team and clinical genetics experts.

The major criteria for appointment in the Medical Center Line are excellence in clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and the major criteria for appointment in the Clinician Educator Line are excellence in clinical care and clinical teaching. There are many opportunities for MCL faculty to develop independent or collaborative programs in clinical, translational or basic research. CE faculty are encouraged to participate in research programs, as their clinical and educational responsibilities permit. Faculty line and rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
Successful candidates will join the faculty in the Department of Pathology, which currently includes a Nobel laureate, multiple members of the National Academies of Sciences and Medicine, and many other investigators with national and international distinctions. In addition to its outstanding research program, the Department of Pathology is responsible annually for over 3.8 million laboratory tests and 60,000 anatomic pathology specimens, and educates outstanding graduate students, residents, and fellows.
Candidates must hold an MD, MD/PhD, or PhD applicants must have board certification in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology, MGP certification or equivalent, and must hold or acquire a license to practice medicine in the State of California. PhD applicants must be ABMGG board-certified or board-eligible in Clinical Molecular Genetics or equivalent certification and hold or acquire a California Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist or Scientist license.
