Provides primary clinical support to the provider and patient to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient’s condition. Follows-up on diagnostic testing to ensure completion, accuracy, and filling of same in medical record to ensure continuity and quality of care. Promotes a clean environment. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in specific age range on their assigned clinical area.
Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Geisinger Health System. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
HEALTHCARE KNOWLEDGE- knowledge of the operating principles, major issues, governmental regulations, and code of ethics for the healthcare industry; ability to apply this understanding appropriately to healthcare related situations.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS- Demonstrates oral, written, and electronic communication skills. ) Must maintain a high regard for confidentiality.
GENERAL COMPUTER COMPETENCIES- Knowledge of and ability to use the computer, including electronic medical record, scheduling system, and e-mail.
TEAM PLAYER- Must be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment. Demonstrates organizational skills and flexibility in scheduling due to possible workload changes
INDEPENDENT WORK- Demonstrates ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current L.P.N. licensure (or eligible) for licensure in the state of Pennsylvania required.
BLS certification required.
Orthopaedic clinic experience preferred.
