Fairview is on the frontlines in responding to COVID-19 outbreak in Minnesota. Our hospitals and facilities are preparing for the anticipated surge of patients in the coming weeks. As a result, we are seeking additional Health Unit Coordinator's to supplement our workforce at St. Joe's Hospital in Saint Paul, MN.

About this position:

• 48 hours (.6 FTE) every two weeks on the NIGHT shift (11pm - 7:30am)
• 8 hour shifts, working every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
• block schedule

• Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards
• Performs vital sign checks, bladder scanning, blood sugar testing and documents cares provided
• Achieves customer service excellence by understanding the needs of all internal and external customers, patients, families, physicians and the interdependent team
• Prioritizes and transcribes written doctor's orders under the supervision of the RN
• Documents patient information in EHR and/or other electronic system in accordance with program standards, department policies/procedures
• Patient Care Delivery: Observes and collects pertinent data and/or clinical findings to enhance patient outcomes
• Patient Education: Provides patient educational information appropriate to the developmental level, learning needs, readiness, cultural values, and beliefs of patients and families
• Patient Safety: Demonstrates practices that support safety with recognition of variations in populations served, preventing harm to patients, families, employees, and themselves

Required Qualifications:

• 1 to 3 years of office experience, preferrably in a health care setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
• Patient care experience preferred
• HUC certificate
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS)
