This vacancy announcement is for a Licensed Practical Nurse Inpatient Behavioral Health. This LPN demonstrates technical proficiencies in initiating, performing and completing assigned duties in providing care to patient populations at all complexity levels and care settings. Duties performed include, but are not limited to the following: Provides for personal hygiene for assigned patients according to defined procedures; Feeds and/or encourage diets, nourishments, and fluids to meet nutrition and hydration needs of assigned patients; Turns, positions, and transfers patients in, to, and from bed, chair, stretchers and escorts patients to appointments as assigned; Assist in the elimination needs of patient by promoting bowel and bladder evacuation using a bedpan, urinal, external catheter, and cares for established colostomies and indwelling catheters; Administers and records medications, monitors IV's, and performs treatments for patients using medical and/or surgical aseptic techniques; Measures, reports, and/or documents vital parameters of body functions and changes in physical, mental, or behavioral states as indicated; Collects, tests and/or processes specimens of body excretions and/or secretions according to established procedures; Cares for, observes, and documents the physical, mental, and behavioral states of patients on special observation in accordance with defined procedure; Provides patient care, which is appropriate to the cognitive, emotional and chronological maturation needs of the adult and/or geriatric patient; Establishes constructive relationships with individual patients to elicit feelings and attitudes and to promote positive relationships, communications, and socialization skills; Performs support duties for diagnostic procedures; Performs other related duties as assigned.
