General Description of the Job Class
Plan, develop and coordinate the preparation of financial analyses and reports including, but not limited to, annual operating budget, financial statements, statistical reports, cost analyses and other financial information; perform complex and specialized assignments in assigned area of expertise; perform lead role in coordinating complex projects.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Assist in the coordination and development of Duke University Hospital's (DUH) annual operating budget
Draft the annual budget calendar with key dates and milestones
Prepare and compile materials for weekly budget/forecast meetings with DUH CFO
Serve as the point person for the compilation of quarterly operating forecasts, including key stats and statement of operations (profit and loss)
Support the Hospitals consolidated month-end reporting, including compilation of preliminary and final month-end profit and loss statement
Assist in the consolidated reporting and analysis of the hospital's margin improvement initiatives
Maintain liaison with business unit financial managers regarding budget requests and related financial matters
Assist with annual update of hospital patient service line definitions and reporting
Various other Ad hoc financial analysis, as needed
Required Qualifications at this Level
Education:Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field. CPA is desirable.
Experience:Work requires a minimum of six years' experience in financial management, cost accounting or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment.
