Robley Rex VA Healthcare System is seeking a RN for Wound Care. The Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) works collaboratively with all levels of healthcare professionals. The individual will identify, reduce, and prevent hospital acquired pressure injury by identifying risks, implementing effective pressure injury prevention quality initiatives, and control measures based on current standards and/or recommendations. This position is approved a $12,000 recruitment incentive. The Registered Nurse (Wound Care, Ostomy and Continence Specialist) utilizes the nursing process to manage conditions such as acute wounds, chronic wounds, fistulas, vascular ulcers, pressure ulcers, arterial ulcers, venous ulcers, neuropathic ulcers and functional disorders of the bowel and bladder for Acute Care, Long Term Care, Ambulatory Care, and Rehabilitation. The RN has continuing responsibility for the following functions: Coordinating orders and delivery of inpatient wound, ostomy supplies and specialty mattresses; Implement comprehensive and evidence-based program for prevention and maintenance of skin and wounds. Provides patient and staff education in areas of ostomy/continent diversion care, wound and fistula management, prevention and management of skin breakdown/chronic wounds, HAPU and bowel and bladder management; assist staff to initiate appropriate discharge referrals based on evaluation of patient's physical, psychological, and self-care status. Position may entail additional duties as assigned. Preferred Experience: 1-2 years of successful clinical nursing practice in an acute care or critical care setting. MSN with WOCN certification and 2 years of nursing experience in wound care, ostomy care,Graduation from an accredited Wound, Ostomy, Continence or Enterostomal Therapy program.
