Pediatric Diabetes Nurse Clinician (NC)
The Pediatric Diabetes Education Nurse Clinician (NC) provides specialized clinical services for patients and families served by the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. The NC collaborates in providing formal and informal patient, family, and staff education. He/she coordinates patient care, including providing telephone triage service, serving as liaison between patients, families, school nurses, social workers, nutritionists, and health care providers. The NC functions as an integral part of the Duke Pediatric Endocrine Service.
Specific Job Responsibilities and Standards
Coaching / Education, in coordination with Pediatric Diabetes Education Nurse Clinician colleages
Evidence based practice, Quality Improvement and Research
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of NC Certified Diabetes Educator strongly preferred. If not certified, must achieve certification within a year of starting the position.
Experience: Three years of nursing experience
Life support: BLS
