Work Hours: Rotating Shifts
1st shift: 6:45am - 3:15pm
2nd shift: 3:00pm - 11:30pm or 1:00pm - 9:30pm

Perform under supervision a variety of technicalduties related to thepreparing and dispensing of drugs accordin g to standard procedure.
Prepare intr avenousadmixtures or other sterile products (includingchemotherapy and p arenteral nutrition).Fill physicianorders/prescriptions, medication cart s,orstockrequisitions.Deliver medications and supplies to patient carean dancillary areas.Answer telephones and directs calls toappropriate perso nnel.Enter charges and credits forpatientmedications.Enter medication or ders/prescriptions into thepharmacy computer system.Provide technical su pport forautomated equipment (Pyxis Robotics).Maintain logs, records and other required documentation. Filedocumentation in the appropriatelocat ion.Complete and document all assigned medication storagearea inspection sat least monthly. Identify and replace outdated andunusable drugs.Monit orassigned quality improvement indicatorsof individual or departmentalp erformance.Stock medications andsupplies; package medications as require dfordispensing.Perform other related duties incidental to workdescribedh erein.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge ofd rug names, basic math, medical terminology, basiccomputer skills.Ability to compound medications and admixintravenous products including antineop lastic drugs under thesupervision of a pharmacist.Abilityto workrotating shifts.Ability to establish and maintain effective workingrelationships.
Pharmacy Tech 1 High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program. or Acceptance into pharmacy school. or High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience. Pharmacy Tech II High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-trainingprogram. or Acceptance into pharmacy school. or High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience.
Pharmacy Tech 1 N/A Pharmacy Tech II Minimum of one years related experience.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Pharmacy Tech 1 Must be registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within the first 180 days. Pharmacy Tech II North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration is required.Pharmacy Technician certification is required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or The Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
