Position Summary
Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures and demonstrates proper diagnostic scan recognition. Maintains patient records and completes patient charges as needed. Cleans and maintains equipment and ensures adequate supplies on hand. Coordinates patient care with other patient services. Processes images for interpretation.
Primary Duties
- Ensures the delivery of quality services in area of operations.
- Acts as an educational resource and is available for consultation to medical, nursing and administrative staff.
- Prepares written documentation such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports and other such reports.
- Processes quality images for interpretation.
- Maintains records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients.
- Assists physician in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies, etc., as appropriate.
- Scans patient, marks patient�s body, determines angle for puncture, assists as necessary, maintains sterile technique.
Qualifications:Minimum Education/Certification/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months experience as an ultrasound tech or completion of an accredited program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Current BLS (AHA) certification
- Certification in diagnostic ultrasound and ARDMS preferred
