Perioperative 101 Overview
This fast-paced Operating Room (OR) invites you to join us in grey scrubs and develop your nursing skills through our fulltime 6 month periop 101 internship program. You will be training with an OR team made up of interdisciplinary professionals that share a passion for surgery. As you delve into our world of bovies, instrument counts, scopes, steris beds, robots, sterility, intubation and so much more, you will find it is truly a privilege to be the patient advocate on their journey through the surgical experience.

Unit Summary
The Nampa OR has 4 operating rooms and provides, ortho, urology, general, OB/GYN, ENT, robotic and is starting a bariatrics surgery program in the near furutre. They also have a call team on staff, so call is very minimal for staff positions.
Schedule: 80 hours per pay period - working 4 (10) hour shifts. Variable shifts Monday through Friday and additional call requirements based on surgery schedule needs.
Responsibilities
- Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
- Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
- Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
- Manages care of patients.
- Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities
- Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
- Experience: Less than 12 mo. RN experience required
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice
