The Medical Instrument Technician - Hemodialysis (MIT HD) at the VALLHCS functions as a member of the renal multidisciplinary team and assists the RN in the care of patients in acute, sub-acute, or chronic states of illness. The MIT HD performs a wide range of patient personal care on Veterans in such a way as to promote a sense of dignity. Additionally, the MIT HD performs setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance dialysis equipment, water quality management and operation equipment. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
