Northwell Health’s Northshore University Hospital Transplant Center is seeking a Transplant Infectious Diseases specialist for a Clinical/Academic position to join a team of physicians focused on the care of immunocompromised patients and serving Long Island, NY.

The candidate will be working as part of a large multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive care to solid organ transplant candidates and heart, lung, liver and kidney transplant recipients, as well as patients with ventricular assist devices and hematological malignancies requiring stem cell transplantation.

Training/Licensure requirements:

• Medical Degree from an Accredited University
• Board Certified in Infectious Diseases
• New York State Medical License
• Transplant Infectious Diseases training and clinical experience in a transplant program.

The candidate:

• Will join a rapidly growing multi-organ transplant program with 241 transplants in 2022 and more than 350 projected for 2023.
• Will have inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities focused on TID.
• Will have an academic appointment with the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra University. We are committed to the training and education of the future providers and leaders in the field of infectious diseases. Our faculty is known for our teaching excellence when it comes to medical students, residents and fellows, and our staff holds leadership positions in local, regional and national organizations. 
• Will participate in transplant selection meetings, antibiotic stewardship, infection control and quality improvement activities.
• Will participate in the creation, updating and implementation of ID related policies and guidelines focused on transplanted and immunocompromised patients.
• Will be expected to participate in teaching house staff, residents, and fellows.
• Will have collaborative research opportunities are present at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. Participation and productivity in research are desired.
