Leads clinical operations using the nursing process, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance. Supervises and develops clinical staff, manages scheduling, monitors care gaps, and supports evidence-based, patient-centered care. Collaborates with leadership to improve outcomes, fosters teamwork through shared governance, and upholds AHS PRIDE values while promoting professional growth and operational excellence.
Utilizes the nursing process effectively (assessing the patient and situation, identifying the problem, plan the care, evaluate the outcome). Serves as an expert resource for team members.
* Consistently demonstrates professional skills and abilities, utilizes knowledge base and exemplary leadership and educational skills to direct and supervise the clinical performance of others, demonstrates motivation and creativity, and serves as a catalyst for effective, positive change.
* Monitors quality dashboards for assigned provider/practice and follows up on care gap opportunities. Identifies patterns and trends that require action planning.
* Supervises clinical team member scheduling and coordinates coverage of clinical area(s) of coverage. Assigns coverage as appropriate. Coordinates and manages the daily patient care assignments for the clinical team.
* Demonstrates knowledge of medication and vaccine administration according to policy, carries out physician orders in an accurate and timely manner. Monitors effects of medications and reports adverse effects in a timely manner. Documents according to AHS policy.
* Participates in the interviewing, hiring and orientation of new clinical team members. Monitors and evaluates competency of assigned clinical team members upon hire and annually. Participates in performance evaluation process.
* Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures, including but not limited to knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures. Organizes and schedules regular emergency drills for the department. Identifies and reports all risk management issues in a timely manner
* Collaborates with practice leadership to organize regular practice huddles, communicates effectively with team members and physicians; actively listens and seeks feedback.
* Utilizes standard precautions including, appropriate isolation techniques. Models all HRO safety behaviors. Consistently follows the Ambulatory Health Care National Patient Safety Goals.
* Supports and encourages participation in Shared Governance (SG). SG empowers clinical team members to work at the top of their license, to improve the clinical work environment thereby improving satisfaction for team members and patients. Promotes evidence-based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
* Pursues and participates in formal and independent learning activities to enhance knowledge, clinical competency, and professional development.
* Supports the overall strategic goals of the clinical practice care area, AMG, the AHS hospital sites, Atlantic Visiting Nurse, and the system.
* Exemplifies and fosters the AHS P.R.I.D.E. values in their clinical practice: Purpose, Respect, Innovation, Diversity, and Inclusion, and Extraordinary Caring.
* Performs other duties per operational needs of the assigned clinical practice area and within the scope of RN license Supervisory responsibilities defined in collaboration with practice leadership
Required:
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
- At least 2+ years' clinical practice, ambulatory practice preferred. Supervisory experience preferred
